Hi, my name is Dari Wolf. I'm 28, and never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would be making this video. Overall, I’ve had a blessed life. I’m a proud daughter, sister, and I’m recently engaged to my best friend in the whole world. But instead of enjoying the excitement of starting a new life with a soulmate, most of my free time has been focused on surviving a life-threatening disease. I’m in urgent need of a kidney transplant.
To this day doctors aren’t sure what caused my kidneys to fail, but despite numerous attempts to control it, I had to start dialysis in 2022. Since then, I’ve had to do it every night for nine hours to stay alive. It’s exhausting, isolating, and it has impacted almost every aspect of my life. From the energy I have, to food I can eat, to my ability to advance in my career.
Even though things have been challenging, I’m doing my best to take care of my health. I’m working full time, take walks, eat healthy foods, and I'm lucky to have a good support system, foremost my fiancé Angel.
If there is one thing this experience has taught me, it’s to live every day like it’s my last. There is so much I want out of life. A home, a family, my freedom.
The gift of life from a living kidney donor would make this possible. I know that donating a kidney is a big ask, but it would save my life. I would be so grateful if you shared my story. Thank you.
