What It's Like To Donate a Kidney

Learn more about living donation here

Jeffrey Sylvester here. I’m a post-kidney transplant (2018) patient with CKD. My eFGR has dropped over the years since transplant and I’m now in Stage Four CKD once again. In spite of my concentrated efforts to stay active and closely monitor blood sugar and blood pressure, I’ ve felt a big change in my energy levels over the past weeks, confirming that the kidney is affected a lot.

Rather than dialysis I choose to find a living altruistic donor or a family or friend. That’s because the live kidney donation is likely to perform better and for longer than a deceased one. Dialysis was ok last time, but my mobility and fatigue issues while on dialysis were very limited. That means a lot to me because I need a ton of energy and mobility to make an exhaustive search for the life donor.

I figure that it’s really smart to do all I can right now to get in the best shape I can physically and set up to search for that live donor by means of posting and publishing my page, “Jeff Sylvester’s Kidney Education Page” and and doing all the online and personal efforts to educate publicly the facts about Kidney Transplant, leaving my number and the number of my Transplant center for people to call if they happen to be that rare personality who wants to donate a life Kidney and is match!

I would be grateful if you shared this page.
