My name is Dave Eiffert, and I need a kidney transplant.
After immunosuppressants for my lung transplant ruined my kidneys, I ended up needing dialysis and 3 days a week I go in, and it takes 5 hours each time. It is really hard to accept this new challenge. To try to maintain my tiny bit of kidney function, I stay active, and eat a low salt, high protein diet.
I retired 6 years ago and my wife and I had planned to travel, but the kidney thing prevents us from doing that, so, the travel van we built just sits there, just like the camping gear and my motorcycle. After a social service career, this is really disappointing. We will make sure my kidney donor has no expense: we will pay all lost wages, travel, etc.
Please consider donating a kidney to me, and tell your friends and family.
