Hello. My name is Darlene Johnson, age 65, diagnosed with stage 4 chronic kidney disease. My journey began when I was in my early twenties following brain surgery. I ended up with hepatitis C. The medication for treatment was to prevent liver damage and in the process ended up damaging both of my kidneys. I am near to stage 5 and will need to go on dialysis very soon. I am praying that I find a living kidney donor soon. Dialysis is a treatment that will dramatically change my life style. I love to travel, attend jazz concerts, and animals. Currently, I enjoy walking my little four pound chihuahua dog named Jazz. I hope to continue living an active, healthy life style. A kidney would keep me off dialysis and allow me to do so.
